When you think of an Iowa Welcome Center, you don’t think full-scale awesome history museum!
You could truly spend hours at the Harrison County Historical Village. There is a large exhibit on agriculture history, a peddlers wagon (something I had never seen before), a log cabin, schoolhouse, general store, and tons more!

A nice side-walk connects all the outdoor buildings, including the little houses you can see on the right in the picture.
This area was like a little play village for the kids. There was a side walk “road” which they could “drive” on.

This stop had some wonderful brochures about the Loess Hills and Lewis and Clark! If you stop by, I would love for you to share. Did you know there were so many different types of barbed wire?
