Lewis and Clark State Park in Western Iowa

Lewis and Clark State Park was a great place to explore some Iowa history! We enjoyed a nice camping evening and toured the replica boat. We didn’t make the annual festival…maybe another year!

Before our trip, we studied about Lewis and Clark. We found a DVD Lewis & Clark – The Journey of the Corps of Discovery at our local library and it was a great video to watch with the kids! We read lots of neat children’s picture books. The kids made “adventure logs” and pretended to be either Lewis or Clark. While hiking in The Loess Hills State Forest they “play Lewis and Clark”.
